It was the summer of 1992 when a twelve-year-old Meryl first felt the urge to write a novel—a horror story about evil tree nymphs—on her IBM 5170 PC. While that story never grew the legs necessary to cross the finish line, the desire to write remained with her for twenty long years. And in 2012 she dove in headfirst. She is currently revising her debut novel, The Pathos of Things, for the umpteenth time.
Over the years, Meryl has held many roles within the fashion, arts, and entertainment industries. These past lives continue to live on through her many hobbies and passions—especially her love for American road trips, the visual arts, collecting antiques, and vintage clothing and accessories. She also writes and sometimes illustrates a style blog, receiving notable attention on her personal style in Pittsburgh City Paper, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Whirl Magazine, and The Hollywood Reporter.
Meryl is happily married to photographer and filmmaker Joshua Franzos, both reside in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with their two "Jag" Russell terriers.
